Mourning the loss of Roey Kert

It is with great sadness that Owens Wright LLP announces the passing of one of our senior partners and a respected colleague, Roey Kert, on February 23, 2018.

Roey joined Owens Wright as a partner in 1987. He was instrumental in growing and building the Firm over the last three decades. He cared deeply about Owens Wright and those who worked here.

He will be remembered for his invaluable contributions to the telecommunications industry, his expertise in negotiating practical business solutions, his insightful advice, honest dialogue and no nonsense approach to the practice of law. Roey was known for his strong will and determination, tempered with a great sense of humour, generosity and kindness. He fought fiercely for his clients and left behind a robust legal practice, with a list of impressive and loyal clients.

Roey’s passion for his work and dedication to his clients were balanced by his passion and dedication on the golf course and the hockey rink. He was a devoted husband to Wendy and a loving father to Sydney (Alex), Daniel and Amanda.

Roey was truly a unique and remarkable man, a friend and mentor to so many and a great asset to the Firm.

He will be missed.
